6th, 7th, 8th grade art students worked closely with Miss. Vincent on mastering their abilities with painting by taking the primary colors plus black and white. To create corresponding secondary colors which included two tints and two shades. They were able to create thirty colors by only using five to start which allowed them to work on paint brush control and amounts of paint they use to make each color look different from the other.

Vanilla Wafers + Buttercream Icing + Food Coloring = Vibrant Celebration of Creativity and Discovery! 🎉 Students in middle school art partnered up to craft breathtaking color wheels, unlocking a deeper understanding of color theory and its limitless applications. This empowering activity reinforced students' grasp of color theory, particularly color mixing, color relationships, and the concepts of primary, secondary, and tertiary colors, through a hands-on, edible art experience. In preparation for their bigger color theory project that will involve painting with Ms. Vincent!

6th grade art students discovered the power of value, one of the fundamental elements of art, and learned to harness it by shading with drawing pencils to add depth and dimension to 2D shapes under the guidance of Miss Vincent to transform into 3D. Then they applied their knowledge to create a stunning optical illusion, dubbed the 'optical onion’ effect, using a range of colors and three distinct shades.
