The PHS horticulture class had a surprise visitor Monday, who gained momentary celebrity status as students whipped out their cell phones to grab pics. The praying mantis, who had been hiding among stems pruned from a rose bush, was then returned to a natural setting.
Creative forces were at play as this student took on drawing a dragon in his art class.
Students in the PHS ceramics class are working on making cups with a handles. They were asked to have a design on the cup that will tell a story about them.
Students in the PHS horticulture class dissected a rose Monday and discussed all the functions of the various parts of the flower. Students then pressed the flower parts to let them dry, so they can use them for future reference.

Due to extreme heat the Football Jamboree scheduled for tomorrow, Friday night, has been cancelled. The Vikings will be in action next week at Prairie View at 7:00 pm.
Parsons High School students enrolled in the new horticulture elective took time Wednesday to visit the Parsons Arboretum for a short scavenger hunt, in which they were trying to locate and identify plants according to the clues given by teacher Kelsey Fabrycky.
Due to the extreme heat and teams switching to morning practices, the Senior Sunrise scheduled for Wednesday August 23rd will be postponed until sometime in September.
