The PHS horticulture class had a surprise visitor Monday, who gained momentary celebrity status as students whipped out their cell phones to grab pics. The praying mantis, who had been hiding among stems pruned from a rose bush, was then returned to a natural setting.

Students in the PHS horticulture class dissected a rose Monday and discussed all the functions of the various parts of the flower. Students then pressed the flower parts to let them dry, so they can use them for future reference.

A quick minute of Jaxx therapy between classes and Parsons High School students leave with a smile. Jaxx made his transition to the high school with his owner, science teacher Mary Friess, which brings a therapy dog back to the PHS halls this year to the delight of many..
