Reminder: All student-athletes participating in a fall sport, cheer, or dance need to have a physical on file in the high school office BEFORE they can begin practice on August 15. Here is a great opportunity to get your physical completed if you haven't already.
PHS Seniors, its almost time to pick your spot! Saturday, July 30th at 8 am we will begin selecting and painting parking spots at PHS. They are free, but bring your own paint! If you can't make it but want a spot, email Mr. Duroni at pduroni@vikingnet.net and we'll save you one!

Fall 2022 // College Orientation (Seniors)
This course provides information pertinent to students who are college-bound or considering pursuing higher education. Visits to college campuses will provide hands-on experiences and students will be connected to resources by guest speakers from college institutions. Completing admissions and scholarship applications and connecting students to financial aid opportunities will be a primary focus. Exploring post-secondary educational options with guidance and encouragement in order to align with the student's Individual Plan of Study (IPS) and meet personal, educational, and career goals will be emphasized. Course content will help develop effective time and stress management skills and strengthen verbal and written communication skills.
Spring 2023 // College and Career Exploration (Juniors & Seniors)
This course is designed to help students understand options for post high school graduation. The student's Individual Plan of Study (IPS) will be referenced as a guide to research college and career paths and connect them to off campus experiences that will aid in decision-making for their future. Life skills such as time management, effective communication, and financial planning will be discussed with a focus on study and test-taking skills, resumes, cover letters, and interviewing.

The results are in from FCCLA National convention! And we have some BIG news!
Our Focus on Children team Jamya Kendrick and Leticia Mota, scored Gold and placed 6th in the Nation! They had tough competition and this is a huge accomplishment!
Congratulations also to all the contestants in both Food Innovations Groups for scoring a high silver at nationals. Food Innovations 2-Amelia Hetlinger and Ava Salyers. Food Innovations 3- Kamron Blair, Jadyn Heck and Gisselle Hernandez. This is also a huge accomplishment to achieve at the national level!

We stopped along the way to Nashville (HOSA National Conference) in Cairo, IL. This town has a most interesting past. We shared some of its history and took a short walk down to the Ohio River.

BBQ Basics class meets today from 10-noon at the high school. Any students in grades 9-12 next year are welcome. Come learn some of the basics of grilling and smoking as well as some good food!
