
PHS anatomy and physiology students apply clay muscles to skeleton models for anatomical study, using reference images of the human musculature. Students follow the origins and insertions of each muscle to build them in clay and use other tools to create details like striations.

Students in several career and technical education classes, like carpentry, are preparing for the upcoming SKILLS USA competition April 23. Ten students from PHS are planning to compete this year in areas including welding, graphics design, and journalism/videography.

A great outing Sat. @ Frontenac. Lawrence/ Corbett finished 1st in IDA. Clark finished 1st in HI and 2nd in POI. Tshijinnie finished 4th overall in DX. Lawrence also finished 3rd in DI and Corbett 5th in Impromptu.


Orchestra students competed at solo and ensemble Saturday. The following earned a 1 and will be going to state: Addy Hetlinger, Kamryn Spencer, Makenzie Taliaferro, Landan Swafford, Madelyn Armitage, and Jamoni Standifer. There are two chamber groups who received 1's as well.

PHS horticulture students paint their farm produce stand, recently built by construction students. Students will place the stand outside on certain days to allow the community to come get fresh greens they have grown and leave a donation to help cover their costs.



Mrs. Friess taught a dissection lab for Amanda Lowe's biology class Thursday, during which students studied vertebrate anatomy and organ systems of frogs. While simple, frogs are representative of more complex organisms and share similarities to internal structures of humans.








Kala Green, former USD #503 teacher and current school board member, visited Ms. Lucas' College and Career Explorations class Wednesday, March 26th to share her passion for life-long learning and visit with students about the Education & Training Career Cluster. Kala now works for Educate Kansas. She shared her personal academic journey and visited with students about career opportunities within the education sector. Thank you, Kala, for your commitment to and advocacy for education!



A group of juniors visited Labette Community College Wednesday, March 26th for their Junior Day Event. It was a fun and informative time! Students heard from several departments around campus & enjoyed lunch from the Cardinal Cafe. One group even won the scavenger hunt!





Congratulations to the 2025 National Honor Society Inductees! The organization's induction ceremony was held Tuesday, March 25th at Parsons High School. Twenty four students were inducted based upon their commitment to scholarship, leadership, service and character.
