Wow!! Your PHS Dustkickers showed out at camp this week! Here are the high lights:
•2nd place overall for home routine & blue ribbon adjudication.
•Awarded the "110% effort” Team for the entire camp - dancers consistently worked hard and gave it their all the whole week.
•5 "All-Americans:" Olivia Chiartano, Emma Hill, Sayler Holsinger, Fabiola Ramirez, & Heidi Shultz - this title is awarded by UDA Staff. Dancers must learn an extra dance and incorporate their own improv choreography showcasing technique and creativity. Dancers "try out" in front of the entire camp.
•Individual Award for "Pin it Forward” - 1 of 2 awards given from UDA instructors to dancers. The recipient was Emma Hill for most improved from 2024 to 2025.
•The two dancers who received the “pin it forward” awards were then able to “pin it forward” to a dancer of their choice. Without knowing, both recipients selected Ava Meyer for their choice for dancer to dancer recipient.
•Heidi Shultz received 1 of 2 total “Stand Out Dancer” Awards for her outstanding performances, enthusiasm, and facials. This earned her an invitation to a college combine.
•The team also received the super spirit stick on day 3.

The Dustkickers are working hard at Summer Dance Camp at Coffeyville Community College. On top of performing a home routine the first night of camp, the girls have learned a total of 7 new dances in 2 days. They are fine-tuning technique and learning more about themselves and each other. It's also been fun both giving and receiving support from other SEK schools and the cheer team! They earned a blue ribbon (highest adjudication) on their team performance routine. More fun to come!

The debate/forensics team competed at the National tournament in Des Moines IA this week. Everyone did their best but during the final rounds at the event center a very disturbed person rushed the stage. We are all fine. We had an early dinner and headed home this morning. Near KC we stopped for froyo.
