Thank you to the Parsons Soroptimist International organization for their continued support of PHS. The biannual "Lunch with Leading Ladies" event took place Wednesday, October 16th with 19 students in attendance. Liz Cochran, Chamber Director & Soroptimist member, welcomed invitees & shared information about Soroptimist's mission. Guest speakers were Lindi Forbes, LCC Director of Foundation & Alumni Association and Temple Monroe, RN & owner of Wellness by Temple. Participants were provided lunch & listened to inspiring messages about how the speakers have worked hard to become successful in their careers and beyond.

Students in Mrs. Houk's Honor's Geometry class charted the characteristics of quadrilaterals and triangles, and equated each to a set number of points - information they will use Wednesday to bid in a shape auction in class. The assignment helps them see how shapes compare.

Two seniors in Mrs. Fabrycky's advanced art class work on a self-directed art project - handmade Halloween masks to accompany homemade costumes.

A student in Mrs. Fabrycky's art class works on a grid drawing of an anime character, which teaches students a method for being able to replicate and enlarge a picture.

Students in Mrs. Moore's English class colored mandalas as part of a figurative language assignment. Figurative language introduces students to similes, hyperboles, idioms, and metaphors, used frequently in literature, poetry and our everyday speech.
