On Saturday, March 12th, the Parsons Chess team attended The State Chess Tournament in Emporia. In the K-12 division, Parsons High School was represented with 5 members. There were 122 participants in the K-12 division with 21 teams represented. Parsons High School placed 9th overall Classes with 13.5 points. In the 4A class, PHS won the 2nd place plaque! Lucas Fugate led the PHS team with 4 wins and won the 26th place medal individually. William Durflinger earned the 36th place medal with his 4 wins. Davis Clark earned the 48th place medal with 3 wins. Timmy Chen, 2.5 wins and A.J Jenkins , 1.5 wins completed the rest of the team. Nice job guys, you had a great season!! We had a fun season and enjoyed winning many trophies and medals. Hopefully we will be able celebrate our season soon with a banquet to recognize all the kids and their accomplishments throughout the year. Thanks to PMS , PHS and the District for all their support!!
