Automotive students have worked on several variants of small block chevy the past few weeks. They're rebuilding a 1959 283 for a fundraiser, tore down and found the point of failure on a 1970s 350, replaced a cylinder head on a 1992 throttle body injected 350 and also found that a 1998 Vortec 350 was beyond repair. They found several similarities and differences in each generation. Next year, they'll dig into an LS series engine!

What is FCCLA? And what are STAR Events? 🤔
FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) is a national student organization that helps members develop leadership skills and make a difference in their families, schools, and communities. Through FCCLA, students gain real-world experience in areas like leadership, service, career preparation, and life skills.
STAR Events stands for Students Taking Action with Recognition. These are competitive events where FCCLA members create presentations and projects then present them to a panel of judges. Students compete in areas like food innovations, repurpose and redesign, service projects and more showcasing their skills in a professional setting.
Together, FCCLA and STAR Events give students the opportunity to grow, lead, and succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Forensics National Qualifying:
What started as a rainy day became an unprecedented event, several schools were not allowed to travel due to weather so at 11am the tournament pivoted to a compete by Zoom event. Something all too familiar for those of us who survived it last time(Covid).
So we rushed around training the kids on how to use Zoom and perform with its limitations.
In the end we were exhausted, it was late at night, waiting for results but we made it.
