The PHS Library Club recently went on field trip to some literary spots in Joplin.

At the Joplin Public Library, students were given a tour, learned about their makerspace area, chatted with librarians about the programs offered there, enjoyed the art gallery and spent time with the teen librarian learning about their teen advisory board and the programs and workshops they provide to their community.

The group then stopped by independent bookstore, Changing Hands, and talked to the proprietors about what it takes to run a small locally owned business.

At Vintage Stock, at the Joplin mall, students could peruse more used books.

The trip finished with an exploration of the Gryphon building, which included a visit to Local Color art gallery, lunch at BTB Social and a stop at Caroline's Ice Cream Parlor.
